PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL: GETXOPHOTO 2016

Festival Dates:September 01 - October 02 GETXOPHOTO is a festival that takes place in Getxo (Bilbao, the Basque Country, Spain) and uses non-conventional places, both public and private, to transmit its approach to photography. GETXOPHOTO is committed to the exploration of formats, materials and unconventional exhibition spaces. GETXOPHOTO will celebrate its tenth anniversary on September 2016 around the theme Time. It will be a special edition and will be curated by the current director of the festival, Jokin Aspuru. The Gomma Photography Grant 2016 competition is now open for submissions. Now in its third year, Gomma Grant is a grant contest tailored to fund photographers, both emerging and established, working among various genre. This year's jury is an exciting mix of astounding personalities from today photography's world: Diane Smyth, the executive editor of The British Journal of Photography, Michael Itkoff, the cofounder of Daylight Books and Matt Shonfeld, the executive Director of Institute, to name just a few.
