2024 DPA winner: Verena Bruening
Posted by Michael Itkoff on
We are proud to announce Verena Bruening as the winner of the 2024 Daylight Photo Awards! Verena's project Windsbraut follows 47 women as they sail 3167 nautical miles across the Atlantic from Tenerife to Martinique in 24 days on the brig Roald Amundsen. A crossing of the Atlantic with an all-female crew has never before been seen on this scale. These images give a glimpse into the unique lives of this all-female crew, and the bonds shared through hard work and a passion for the sea. See the 2024 Verena Bruening's Digital Feature here: https://daylightbooks.org/blogs/stories/verena-bruening-windsbraut
