The Social Stage
Posted by Daylight Books on
Laura Morton will be showing her project The Social Stage at The Half King Gallery on November 19, at 7:30pm. The show will be on view until January 12, 2014.
Opening night's slideshow will feature Laura and Jim Estrin, discussing the stories and context of Laura's images. The Social Stage is about the people at San Francisco society galas. This is a set whose members attend extravagant, fanciful parties to celebrate donating crucial sums to local charities and organizations. Bright, immediate, and timeless, Morton’s images give the fabulous moment and the lonesome, isolated moment equal value.
