Join curator and editor Susan Bright for a signing of her book Home Truths: Photography and Motherhood.
Published to accompany a highly anticipated traveling exhibition, Home Truths examines contemporary interpretations of one of the most enduring subjects in the history of picture-making: the image of the mother. Focusing on the work of 12 international photographers, it challenges the stereotypical or sentimental views of motherhood handed down by traditional depictions.
Place: ICP Store, 1133 Avenue of the Americas
Date: Friday, November 15, 6:00pm–7:30pm
Art Desks
Posted by Daylight Books on
Art Desks features photographs of the desks and working spaces of artists, curators, art dealers, critics and tastemakers throughout the East Coast. This series began in 2011 in Washington, D.C. and has since expanded to other art markets. This series explores the idea of desk as portrait combined with the social experiment of navigating the art world.
These photographs will be published by Daylight Books in the fall of next year. The 8-inch-by-10-inch hardbound book will feature 96 photographs of art desks. This will be Robinson's first book published with an independent publisher.
