Leica Oskar Barnack Award

All entries for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2014 must be made via the online Application Form between 15th December and January 31, 2014.
The “Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award” competition is open to any professional photographer aged 25 or under at the time of entering. To take part, participants must send in a series of photographs taken in 2013 or long-term projects containing at least one photo from 2013. Only one entry per photographer is accepted.
All digital images prepared for uploading must be 1200 pixels high. The width of the image is variable in proportion.

Call for Entries: Portfolio Review 2014

The Portfolio Review will take place during the Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2014. By presenting their portfolios to a professional photo-jury the participants will have the chance to undergo constructive criticism, gain public attention and be advised for their future careers. Every participant presents to three reviewers and will also have the opportunity for one-to-one reviews during the whole day.
The deadline for the submissions is 16th December 2013. Out of all submissions 20-25 photographers will be selected to present their work in Düsseldorf on 1st February 2014. The Portfolio Review is a public event and the images will be screened with a projector. A portfolio of the Portfolio Review 2014 comprising the works of the participating photographers will be available at the day of the event.

PhotoNOLA is an annual festival of photography in New Orleans, coordinated by the New Orleans Photo Alliance in partnership with galleries, museums and photographers citywide.
The 2013 festival will take place from December 12 to December 15 with broad ranging photography exhibitions on display throughout the month. The lineup includes portfolio reviews, workshops, lectures,demonstrations, book signings and the PhotoGALA. Many events are free and open to the public.

Velvet and Bubble Wrap

M+B is pleased to announce Matthew Brandt: Velvet and Bubble Wrap, the artist’s second solo exhibition at the gallery featuring new work that explores Hollywood as both a construct and a landscape. The exhibition runs from December 14, 2013 through January 18, 2014, with an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, December 14 from 6 to 8 pm.
