The Art of Work
Posted by Daylight Books on
Newspace Center for Photography is pleased to invite submissions for the 2014 Themed Exhibition. This exhibition provides photographers and artists the opportunity to share images that were originally created as part of their professional, client-based work.
Throughout the history of the medium, photography has been used for a wide range of purposes, many with an end-user in mind. Whether architectural, editorial, portraiture, product, or otherwise made for a client, photographers have applied their craft for commercial means. At the same time, many of these same image-makers create photographs for their own personal projects. In recent years, the line between commercial and fine art have blurred considerably as photographers increasingly mix images from their client-based work with their personal work to present a unified representation of their unique way of seeing the world.
Entries must be received by January 15, 2014 at 6pm PST.
Selected images will be on display in the Newspace gallery March 7 through 30, 2014, with an opening reception Friday, March 7th from 6-9pm.
