Dangerous Ground
Posted by Daylight Books on
Please join in on January 14 for the opening of the 23rd Half King photo exhibit, when Ashley Gilbertson will discuss his beautifully shot story, "Dangerous Ground."Ashley's project centers on a WWII era ship grounded on a shoal in the South China Sea. Despite its disintegrated state, LT 47 and nearby islands are continually manned by the Philippine military to dissuade Chinesse occupation. In turn, Chinese Coast Guard and Navy attempt to prevent the Phillipines supplying the outposts. At issue are the reserves of oil and gas in the seabed, and control of the worlds busiest shipping lanes. Come out January 14 to learn more about what's at stake and how tensions there have repercussions for U.S. policy in the Pacific.
