ON DISPLAY: Habitiation by Pamela Pecchio

 CANDELA Gallery in Richmond, VA will be displaying Pamela Pecchio’s work Habitation May 3rd - June 28th. This body of work is a quiet questioning of the idea of home. Through ten years of documenting her own and others’ living quarters, Pecchio points to the poetry and mundanity of the human habitat.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Chobi Mela International Festival of Photography

The largest photography festival in Asia, Chobi Mela, is accepting submissions for its January 2015 event. The theme is intimacy. As the call details, “We invite photographers to probe into the depths of personal space. To reach out to the wider universe. To challenge perceptions of belonging”

Chosen photographers will have their work displayed at the festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh as well as in a exhibition tour throughout the country.

TO ATTEND: Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, May 13th to June 30th

Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Preston Dannaway will be showing her work Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea at the Half King Gallery in Manhattan from May 13th to June 30th. This work comes from the many years Dannaway spent living in Ocean View Virginia documenting the sea and the people there. 

The opening will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday May 13th and will feature a moderated talk by Paul Moakley, Time's Deputy Director of Photography.
