Founded in 1965, the foundation was created to honor the life of Alicia Patterson and to support photojournalists in substantial independent projects. Binauralmedia/Nodar Artist Residency Center

The 2010 Nodar Artist Residency Program, located in rural Portugal, will be focused on the Paiva River and surrounding landscape. This is a two week long residency that is open to artists working in film, media, sound, performance and photography. The 2009 Berenice Abbott Prize for an Emerging Photographer

Created in honor of the life of Berenice Abbott, the Prize for Emerging Photographers gives young artists the opportunity to gain exposure by offering an, all expense paid, solo show at the Julia Dean Photo Workshop in Southern California. This years competition will be judged by Tim B. Wride, Curator of the Department of Photographs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The deadline for entry is July 17.
