Join us May 16th to celebrate Daylight’s newest publication Gays in the Military by Vincent Cianni. This book is the culmiation of Cianni's recent work, which focuses on Gays and Lesbians in the military. It includes fifty portraits and testimonies of individuals and couples who share their stories of the harassment, discrimination and indignities they endured. Come, enjoy good company and help us celebrate this groundbreaking work!

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: LagosPhoto Festival 2014

LagosPhoto, the first international photography festival in Nigeria, is currently accepting submission for their 2014 event. The theme for submissions is Staging Reality, Documenting Fiction. The festival hopes to attract work that probes into the relationship between fiction and reality in documentary photography, using this ambiguity as an entry-point of exploration investigate changing realities of Africa.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize

The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize is now open for submissions! This annual international competition organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London is looking for portriat submissions, which they define broadly as “photography concerned with portraying people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals.” Prize-winning photos will be part of a fall exhibition at the Portrait Gallery before touring the UK.
