CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Solas Prize

The Solas Prize is an award for contemporary photography, comprising an individual first prize of $10,000, second prize of $1,000 and third prize of $500. The Winners’ work will be shown in The Solas Awards Exhibition at Gallery of Photography Ireland in December 2015 and simultaneously published in 'Source' with specially-commissioned essays. In addition, work by Irish photographers, or work made in Ireland, is eligible for the Solas Ireland Awards. Three winners will have their work included in the Solas Awards Exhibition. The Hariban Award, presented by the Benrido Collotype Atelier, is the first international competition celebrating the classic collotype printing technique. Professionals and amateurs alike are invited to submit monochromatic photographs for a chance to win this remarkable award, combining an 150 year-old analog technique with the new vision of digital-age photography. The winner will receive an expenses-paid trip to the ancient city of Kyoto to participate in the production of a collotype portfolio, which will be exhibited as an associated program of Kyotographie 2016.
