Dikan Center featured in NPR
Posted by Michael Itkoff on
Daylight's fiscal sponsorship program is one of the many ways we support artists in sharing their work. In late December, NPR published an article featuring the Dikan Center, one of our favorite fiscally sponsored initiatives! The Dikan Center is located in Accra, Ghana and features a gallery, library, and innovative educational programming for students. Huge congratulations to Paul Ninson and the Dikan Center for the recognition! We look forward to a new year of supporting the Dikan Center in their efforts to inspire the next generation of Africa's creative leaders. 2024 DPA winner: Verena Bruening
Posted by Michael Itkoff on
We are proud to announce Verena Bruening as the winner of the 2024 Daylight Photo Awards! Verena's project Windsbraut follows 47 women as they sail 3167 nautical miles across the Atlantic from Tenerife to Martinique in 24 days on the brig Roald Amundsen. A crossing of the Atlantic with an all-female crew has never before been seen on this scale. These images give a glimpse into the unique lives of this all-female crew, and the bonds shared through hard work and a passion for the sea.
