Rather than closing next week, Doug Rickard's poignant exploration of Google Street View, A New American Picture, will be extended thourough just about Independence Day July 2, 2011, at Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco. Some fo the work will also be on view in the same city at the Pilara Foundation's photography space, Pier 24. Those of us on the East Coast will have to wait to see next year's release of a monograph by Schaden or Moma's next installment of New Photography on September 27, 2011.
