TO ATTEND: The Sochi Project: An Atlas of War and Tourism in the Caucasus opening reception

Rob Honstra and Arnold van Bruggen collaboratively put together this book, which tells the story of Sochi, Russia, the site of the 2014 Olympic Games. Combining portraiture, found objects, and stories collected from the area, the artists probe into the intersections of antiquity, modernism, poverty, and prosperity of the region.
Join the artists for an opening reception Wednesday, June 4th from 7:00 - 8:30.

The work of Canadian photographer and sculptor Jacinthe Lessard-L is currently on display at Les Territoires in Montreal. In this, her newest body of work, she probes into the physicality of analog photography. The photographs document a series of camera parts that are molded in silicone. These colorful and aesthetically intriguing objects are then backlit against a black background.

Artists Lucy Harrison and Katherine Green are interested in the ways that historical properties in East London have been repurposed since being erected in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The two artists tell this story through a combination of contemporary photography and oral history, which come together in their current show WE.

Schmidt, a german photographer, won the competition with his body of work Lebensmittel (Foodstuff). The Prix Pictet features photographic work with a focus on social and environmental issues.

Greece’s largest photography event, PhotoBiennale, returns a third time to the Museum of Photography this summer with the theme “Logos”. Following events in 2010 and 2011 that centered around the concepts "time" and "place", at this year's event artists explore the various meanings of the word "Logos".
Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to engage in a side events ranging from panel discussions to workshops and portfolio reviews.
