Daylight Books, Slideluck and DJ Spooky are proud to join forces to host a launch reception to celebrating Daylight's spring book releases. Artists will be in attendance to sign books, and a slideshow will highlight work from these books throughout the evening. George Lawson Gallery (San Francisco, CA) presents Tama Hochbaum's recent work from her series 'Silver Screen', dealing with dance. For some time Hochbaum has been capturing televised content with her iPhone, in particular films from the 1940s, organizing her shots into grids and printing the digital files onto aluminum. The series, which began as an homage to her late mother, has evolved into an exploration of generationally stacked technologies for delivering media, their correlation with personal memory, and in juxtaposition, the accumulation of shared cultural references. Announcing the 2015 Daylight Photo Awards!

Submissions are now open for the 2015 Daylight Photo Awards. The winning submission will receive a solo show at the Daylight Project Space, as well as a digital showcase of their work! Juror picks will receive a selection of Daylight's previously published books. Previous Daylight Photo Award winners include Zhang Kechun, Bryan Schutmaat, Aaron Vincent Elkaim, and Tamas Dezso.This year's jurors are Peggy Sue Amison (East Wing Gallery, Dubai); Luca Desienna (Gomma, UK); Shane Lavalette (Light Work, US); Karen McQuaid (Photographers Gallery, UK); and Takeki Sugiyama (Mt.
