CALL FOR ENTRIES: Open Society Foundation's 2014 Audience Engagement Grant

The Open Society Foundation is currently offering two tracks of support for photographers who are working to document human rights and social justice issues. The first track, entitled "Project Development", offers grantees funding to attend a retreat in December, 2014, which will outline strategies to move photographers' projects and career goals forward. The second, "Project Implementation", will offer grantees funding to execute their projects as well as attend December's retreat. These grants are aimed at artists whose work aims not only to document social issues, but also to enact change in these areas.
DEADLINE: July 8th, 2014 at 5:00 PM EST

UPDATE: Photo Review Garden Party Today (6/14)

The Photo Review annual Garden Party, this year occurring on Saturday, June 14th, will draw guests ranging from Larry and Lorraine Miller of New York's Laurence Miller Gallery, to renowned photographers Mark Cohen and Larry Fink. This year's event also boasts the sale of first edition copies of Vincent Cianni's Gays in the Military and Andread Modica's Treadwell. Attend to mingle with these wonderful guests, as well as to get feedback on your own current work.

Congratulations to Brandon Thibodeau, winner of the Michael P Smith Fund's Grant in Documentary Photography

Thibodeau won the grant for his long-term project, entitled "When Morning Comes", which documents rural African American communities in Northern Mississippi. The MPS Fund annually supports gulf coast photographers working on long-term documentary projects.

On June 14th, TGIF Gallery in Chelsea will be hosting the launch of the third issue of MOSSLESS. This issue, entitled The United States (2003-2013), features the work of more than 100 photographers as they explore the contemporary US.
