TO ATTEND: SECRETS, an evening with Magnum Photographers

Tomorrow night (6/25) Magnum greats Jim Goldberg, Larry Towell, Paolo Pellegrin, Susan Meiselas, Martin Parr and many others will be sharing stories from the field at the Magnum Foundation’s event SECRETS. The event will include a book signing of limited-edition and out -of-print photography books, as well as the opportunity to have a portrait made by one of these photographers.

SUBMIT NOW: The Perimeter of the World: Contemporary Travel Photography

The deadline for RayKo Photo Center’s travel photography competition is this Thursday (6/26). RayKo is looking for shots that tell a story of personal travel and exploration. The top prize for the competition is $500 cash, and the winning photograph will also be featured in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Braga, Portugal based Encontros da Imagem is currently fielding submissions for their 2014 International Photography Festival. Top awards include a 7,500 euro cash prize and a solo exhibition at the 2015 festival.

This summer and fall the Paul J Getty Museum’s Department of Photographs will be holding an exhibition of selected work from their permanent collection to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The exhibition will showcase the breadth of the Museum’s historical and contemporary work, celebrating the uncanny visual associations of artists working in disparate times and places.
