Announcing the 2015 Daylight Photo Awards!

Submissions are now open for the 2015 Daylight Photo Awards. The winning submission will receive a solo show at the Daylight Project Space, as well as a digital showcase of their work! Juror picks will receive a selection of Daylight's previously published books. Previous Daylight Photo Award winners include Zhang Kechun, Bryan Schutmaat, Aaron Vincent Elkaim, and Tamas Dezso.This year's jurors are Peggy Sue Amison (East Wing Gallery, Dubai); Luca Desienna (Gomma, UK); Shane Lavalette (Light Work, US); Karen McQuaid (Photographers Gallery, UK); and Takeki Sugiyama (Mt. Zofia Rydet's 'Sociological Record'

Photographer Zofia Rydet’s Sociological Record, realized between 1978–1997, represents one of the most important achievements in 20th-century Polish photography. Rydet (1911–1997) assembled her photographic “Record” by systematically and methodically documenting the lives of individuals depicted primarily within the literal frame and context of their homes: village huts in the countryside or else apartments suspended amidst blocks of city flats.Of canonical significance, the “Record” has nevertheless remained a challenge for scholars and art critics alike, owing to the sheer breadth of the project’s scope and Rydet’s prolific industriousness. SNAP! MIAMI is hosting a book signing & champagne reception for Art Desks with E. Brady Robinson at the Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach during Art Wynwood. A years-long project, Art Desks features photographs of the desks and working spaces of artists, curators, art dealers, and critics throughout the East Coast. The series explores the idea of the desk as portrait of its owner, combined with the social experiment of navigating the art world. MONO Volume 2 Kickstarter

The MONO Trilogy is about celebrating that beautiful and timeless art medium that is black white photography. It represents an invaluable contemporary snapshot of the black and white genre.

MONO Volume Two will showcase approx 250 pages of outstanding imagery, encased in an elegant and lushly black cloth hardcover.
