TO SEE: PhotoBiennale at The Museum of Photography, Thessaloniki, Greece

Greece’s largest photography event, PhotoBiennale, returns a third time to the Museum of Photography this summer with the theme “Logos”. Following events in 2010 and 2011 that centered around the concepts "time" and "place", at this year's event artists explore the various meanings of the word "Logos". 

Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to engage in a side events ranging from panel discussions to workshops and portfolio reviews.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: POPCAP Prize Africa

piclet.org is currently accepting submissions for the 2014 POPCAP prize for contemporary African Photography.  This prize is awarded to photographic portfolios that either focus on the African diaspora or that are produced in an African country. POPCAP hopes raise the profile of African artists and work that features Africa in efforts to facilitate an exchange of ideas “between north and south and east and west”

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Scopio International Photography Contest

Scopio is now accepting submissions for the 2014 International Photography Contest; the theme is Crossing borders and shifting boundaries: Architecture. Jurors for the contest include Pedro Gadanho, curator at MOMA, and Angela Ferreira, Curator and Director of Encontramos da Imagem, Brada Portugal. Selected photographers will be featured in Scopio’s online gallery as well as in this year’s edition of Scorpio Magazine.
